The story

Introduced in 1968, the line distils a serpent motif Boucheron had used since the nineteenth century into a single beaded teardrop. The drop has since been made in sizes from XS to XXL, in three golds and in hard stones such as malachite, mother-of-pearl and onyx, often hung from the fine twisted chain the house has woven since the 1960s.

Twenty years after Rome wound its serpent round the wrist, Boucheron kept only the head: a gold drop ringed with beads.
