The story
In the 1960s Nicola Bulgari, a grandson of the founder and a coin collector, revived the old Roman habit of mounting ancient coins in jewellery. The house began with coins on long chain necklaces and, as clients took to them, moved them onto earrings, rings and bracelets, keeping each coin's wear intact. Bulgari still sets two-thousand-year-old coins in contemporary gold mounts, sometimes on Tubogas chokers.

Bvlgari Bvlgari, Bulgari
Bvlgari Bvlgari engraves the house's name twice round a rim, the way a Roman coin carries an emperor's.

Where Bulgari set ancient coins whole, Dinh Van hammered a new disc of pure gold after the bi of ancient China.
