The story
In 1966 Tiffany began selling gold key tags stamped with its Fifth Avenue return address and a unique registry number. A heart-shaped tag on a key ring followed in 1969, and in 1980 the tag became jewelry, a gold heart pendant on a box chain. The silver tag necklaces and bracelets of the late 1990s turned the engraved address into a signature of the house.

Tiffany's name moved from an engraved tag to its own initial, pared to a bar that closes the bangle.
