The coffee bean, full and grooved down its middle, cast in gold and gathered into clusters.

Chaumet

Hortensia

Hydrangea florets gathered into pompoms, garlands and posies, the flower repeated in gold petals, pink opal and pavé.

An empress and a film star hover behind these two. Hortensia, which Chaumet made in 2013 under Claire Dévé-Rakoff, honours Empress Joséphine's gardens at Malmaison with hydrangea florets in pink opal, angel-skin coral and pavé. Grain de Café counted Grace Kelly among its wearers in the 1950s, less than twenty years after Jeanne Toussaint gave Cartier the coffee bean in 1938, a grooved gold form gathered into clusters.
