Sunflower

Eight matched stones ring a single round brilliant like petals around a seed head, laid out with a compass for strict symmetry.

New York produced the Sunflower in 1950: Harry Winston's motif is eight matched stones around a round brilliant, mostly diamonds in platinum. Cartier's Grain de Café, drawn in Paris by Jeanne Toussaint in 1938, found its public in the same decade, with Grace Kelly among its wearers, and a 1955 necklace was reissued in 2023. Toussaint's bean, unlike Winston's flower, is mostly gold.
