Hortensia

Hydrangea florets gathered into pompoms, garlands and posies, the flower repeated in gold petals, pink opal and pavé.

Margherita

A daisy, margherita in Italian, set in diamonds and named for the queen whose name it shares.

Each flower was chosen with a woman in mind. In the 1920s Enrico Grassi Damiani made a daisy jewel for Margherita of Savoy, whose name is also the Italian word for the flower, and the diamond daisy in white gold has stayed with the Valenza house ever since. Chaumet picked the hydrangea for Hortensia in 2013 for Empress Joséphine and her gardens at Malmaison, then multiplied the florets into posies of opal and coral. A single royal emblem faces a crowded, many-headed bloom.
