Margherita

A daisy, margherita in Italian, set in diamonds and named for the queen whose name it shares.

The years between the wars produced both motifs. Enrico Grassi Damiani designed his daisy jewel for Queen Margherita of Savoy in the 1920s, playing on her name, and white gold and diamonds have carried the Margherita motif since. In 1938 Jeanne Toussaint chose a humbler subject for Cartier, the coffee bean, cast full and grooved in gold and clustered; Grain de Café came back in 2023, two-toned and edged with diamonds.
