Plume de Paon

A peacock feather drawn barb by barb in pavé, its eye marked by a single larger diamond, curling round the finger or falling from a chain.

Margherita

A daisy, margherita in Italian, set in diamonds and named for the queen whose name it shares.

Royal patronage marks the Margherita: in the 1920s Enrico Grassi Damiani designed a jewel for Margherita of Savoy, Queen of Italy, whose name also means daisy, and the flower stayed a Damiani signature in white gold and diamonds. The Plume de Paon has no royal dedicatee but a long life in the workshop, from the hair ornaments and brooches of Frédéric Boucheron and Paul Legrand, dated to 1860, to rings in which the pavé feather wraps the finger.
