Return to Tiffany

A key-ring tag engraved 'Please Return to Tiffany & Co. New York' with a registry number, so lost keys could find their owner through the Fifth Avenue store.

The heart reached Return to Tiffany in 1969, as a tag on a key ring, and by 1980 it hung as a gold pendant engraved with the Fifth Avenue address. FRED's double heart remembers a film: in 1990 the Pretty Woman production borrowed a ruby and diamond necklace from the house's Rodeo Drive boutique for Julia Roberts's character. The New York heart carries a message in letters; the FRED heart is an outline traced twice and lit with diamonds.
