Raindance

Round diamonds of unequal sizes, each in its own collet, scattered across open platinum bands like raindrops landing on a window.

de Grisogono

Boule

The ball as the jewel: light gold spheres, smooth or paved edge to edge with stones, swollen into dome rings, drop earrings and cuffs.

Boule begins with a solid: the sphere, in light rose gold, sometimes left smooth and sometimes paved edge to edge until a ring becomes a lit dome and an earring a hanging ball. Raindance begins with a scatter. Rebecca Hawkins spent months placing round diamonds of unequal sizes, each in its own collet, across open platinum bands so they would fall like drops on a window. De Grisogono's line ended with the house in 2020; the Boodles ring sits in the V&A's permanent display of British design.
