Torsade de Chaumet

Ropes of gold and diamonds twisting freely round a straight line of stones, after the spiral frieze that climbs the Vendôme Column outside the house's windows.

Trinity is a ring of three golds, small enough to wear every day since Louis Cartier linked them in 1924. Torsade de Chaumet, shown in July 2021, is high jewelry: ropes of white gold and diamonds twisting round a line of Mozambique rubies, Colombian emeralds or Ceylon sapphires, after the bronze frieze that spirals up the Vendôme Column. Wound strands are the common gesture, carried from a single finger in 1924 to a tiara almost a century later.
