Liens

A ribbon crossed into an X between two lines of gold: the tie between two people drawn as a single sign.

A bond can be built or drawn. Cartier built it in 1924, when Louis Cartier interlaced three rings of yellow, rose and white gold that still roll freely round the finger. Chaumet drew it in 1977 with the Liens d'Or ring, a ribbon crossed into an X between two lines of gold, often worn as a wedding band. Trinity is a small machine of three parts. Liens is a single graphic sign, later engraved with names and dates on the Jeux de Liens medals.
