The quatrefoil and the flower

Hortensia or Lily Cluster

Chaumet · Harry Winston

Hortensia

Hortensia

Hydrangea florets gathered into pompoms, garlands and posies, the flower repeated in gold petals, pink opal and pavé.

Lily Cluster

Interlacing petals of small pavé-set round diamonds, accented with a single marquise, form a lily caught mid-bloom.

Lily Cluster arrived in 2010 but looks back to the early 1940s, when Harry Winston's studio was drawing the clusters that made its name; here small round diamonds curl into petals around one marquise, at a size meant for daily wear. Chaumet's Hortensia, three years younger, began as a high-jewelry collection of 24 pieces in opal, rubies and coral. The New York flower stays white and linear, the Parisian hydrangea round, coloured and abundant.
