Lily Cluster

Interlacing petals of small pavé-set round diamonds, accented with a single marquise, form a lily caught mid-bloom.

Alhambra

Van Cleef & Arpels

Alhambra

A four-leaf clover cut from stone and ringed with a double row of gold beads, repeated along a chain like a string of charms.

In 1968 Van Cleef & Arpels set out the Alhambra, a four-leaf clover in hard stone with a beaded gold rim, and the line has since grown into Vintage, Magic and Sweet sizes, in colours from carnelian to malachite. Harry Winston's Lily Cluster, launched in 2010, starts from New York sketches of the early 1940s and keeps to white: small round diamonds hand-set on curling petals with a marquise. The lily has depth, its petals lapping over one another, where the clover keeps to a single graphic plane.
