Tilda's Bow

A silk bow, freshly tied by hand, rebuilt in rows of round and baguette diamonds, each baguette cut individually to follow the curve of a loop.

Abstraction faces likeness. Chaumet's Liens reduces the tied ribbon to a crossed X set between two lines of gold, a mark it has used since 1977 and has carried into lacquer, diamonds and engraved medals. Graff goes the other way with Tilda's Bow, which the London house calls its most lifelike bow: rows of round and baguette diamonds looping from a knotted centre, each baguette cut individually to follow the curve. The sign of a tie, set against the tie itself.
