Boodles

Blossom

Small cherry blossoms in white, rose or yellow gold, their petals beaded with diamonds like dew on a spring morning.

Lunaria

Marco Bicego

Lunaria

Flat, rounded petals modelled on the papery, moon-like seed pods of the honesty plant, in gold, diamond pavé or thin slices of mother-of-pearl and coloured stone.

Months separate the two moments of plant life recorded here. Boodles took the Japanese sakura for Blossom in 2016, keeping each cherry flower small and letting diamonds settle on its gold petals like dew. Marco Bicego went to the honesty plant, Lunaria, whose flat seed discs dry to a papery, moon-pale translucence, and gave its yellow gold those rounded shapes, sometimes paved, sometimes cut from mother-of-pearl or aquamarine.
