Lunaria

Flat, rounded petals modelled on the papery, moon-like seed pods of the honesty plant, in gold, diamond pavé or thin slices of mother-of-pearl and coloured stone.

Alhambra

Van Cleef & Arpels

Alhambra

A four-leaf clover cut from stone and ringed with a double row of gold beads, repeated along a chain like a string of charms.

Thin slices of stone framed in gold and strung along a chain describe both, at first glance. Van Cleef & Arpels first made its Alhambra clover in textured gold in 1968 and later cut it from mother-of-pearl, onyx, malachite and carnelian, each leaf held by a double row of gold beads. Lunaria's discs are single rounded petals, after the honesty plant's pods, made by Marco Bicego in jade, grey mother-of-pearl, aquamarine or plain yellow gold.
