Grain de Café

The coffee bean, full and grooved down its middle, cast in gold and gathered into clusters.

Lunaria

Marco Bicego

Lunaria

Flat, rounded petals modelled on the papery, moon-like seed pods of the honesty plant, in gold, diamond pavé or thin slices of mother-of-pearl and coloured stone.

Seeds, not flowers, lie behind both. Jeanne Toussaint chose the coffee bean for Cartier in 1938, full and split by a groove, and Grain de Café was cast in gold in clusters that Grace Kelly later wore; two-tone beans edged with diamonds followed in 2023. Marco Bicego's Lunaria takes the casing rather than the seed, the flat pod of the honesty plant, and makes it a round, thin petal of gold, pavé or pale stone.
