A peacock feather drawn barb by barb in pavé, its eye marked by a single larger diamond, curling round the finger or falling from a chain.

Le Petit Cactus

The flower of the vanilla cactus, which opens for one night a year, made as a small burst of rose gold stamens around a single stone.

Marie-Antoinette links Le Petit Cactus to Mellerio's oldest history: the queen, the house's first royal client, asked Redouté to paint the vanilla cactus, whose flower opens one night a year. In 2019 Laure-Isabelle Mellerio made it a small burst of rose-gold stamens around a single stone, from €440. Boucheron's Plume de Paon, from €6,950, works at another scale altogether, a pavé peacock feather dated to 1860 that runs the length of a finger.
