The quatrefoil and the flower

Opera or Fleurette

Buccellati · Van Cleef & Arpels

Opera

Buccellati

Opera

The Buccellati emblem, a four-petalled rosette of winding lines, cut out and worn as the jewel itself: in engraved gold, in diamond pavé, or laid over a pierced tulle lattice.

Fleurette

Van Cleef & Arpels

Fleurette

Seven round diamonds gathered into one small stylised flower, a corolla of stones with almost no metal showing.

Hand engraving is what Buccellati is known for, and Opera, introduced in 2015, puts it on the house's own rosette emblem, its winding lines chased into gold or picked out in pavé. Fleurette hides the metal almost completely. Van Cleef & Arpels gathers seven round diamonds into one small corolla, a motif in its work since the 1920s and a collection of its own since around 2000, now in rose gold as well as white.
