Spikes, beads and square studs set in a moving mesh, a house of polish playing with a punk vocabulary.

Two gold half-rings that hook into each other like handcuffs, so the clasp becomes the whole jewel.

Spikes are the vocabulary of Clash de Cartier, set with beads and square studs that move against one another, a punk accent the house unveiled over three days in Paris in April 2019. Menottes, made in the same city in 1976, borrow from a darker toolbox, the handcuff, yet Jean Dinh Van kept it small and quiet: two gold half-rings hooked together and hung from a cord, a chain or pearls. Each takes a hard image and makes it wearable, Clash by turning it up, Menottes by scaling it down.
