Clash de Cartier

Spikes, beads and square studs set in a moving mesh, a house of polish playing with a punk vocabulary.

Serrure bangle in brushed yellow gold: a slim open band whose flattened end forms a keyhole-shaped clasp, on a white ground.

Serrure

A bangle of springy gold wire, one end flattened by a hammer stroke into a clasp shaped like a lock.

Little could be quieter than Serrure, made in Paris in 1975: a springy gold wire whose one flattened end recalls a lock. Clash de Cartier, launched in the same city in 2019, crowds the surface with spikes, beads and square studs that move against each other, a punk wardrobe translated by a house known for polish. Both rely on the hand, Jean Dinh Van's on gold worked until it was supple, Cartier's on small parts that roll and shift.
