Lunaria or Calla

Lunaria

Lunaria

Flat, rounded petals modelled on the papery, moon-like seed pods of the honesty plant, in gold, diamond pavé or thin slices of mother-of-pearl and coloured stone.

Calla

Vhernier

Calla

One smooth cone, furled like a calla lily, hung alone on a necklace whose clasp disappears.

Two younger Italian houses, two opposite instincts about gold. Vhernier, founded in Valenza in 1984, never uses yellow, and its Calla of 1998 is a single smooth cone of rose or white gold furled like a lily. Marco Bicego, who set up under his own name near Vicenza in 2000, works mainly in yellow, and Lunaria lays it flat in rounded petals after the seed pods of the honesty plant, some cut from aquamarine or jade.
