Melody of Colours

Colour massed by the hundred: small amethysts, rubies, pink sapphires and tsavorites crowded over full gold forms until the surface reads as one tone.

Sabbia ring: a rounded dome covered in white and brown diamonds of different sizes, on a rose-gold band, on a pale grey ground.

Sabbia

Diamonds of mixed sizes, cuts and colours (white, brown, black) set unevenly over a domed surface, so the pavé glitters like sand under sun or moonlight.

Each crowds its stones until the surface becomes a single material. Melody of Colours did it with colour: de Grisogono massed small amethysts, rubies, pink sapphires and tsavorites over generous gold forms, a show of Fawaz Gruosi's taste for density and rare stones. Sabbia does it with tone. Pomellato mixes diamonds of three colours and many sizes at different heights, closer to the greys and golds of sand than to a palette. It carried Sabbia into high jewelry with La Gioia in 2020, the year de Grisogono went bankrupt.
