Alhambra

Van Cleef & Arpels

Alhambra

A four-leaf clover cut from stone and ringed with a double row of gold beads, repeated along a chain like a string of charms.

Calla

Vhernier

Calla

One smooth cone, furled like a calla lily, hung alone on a necklace whose clasp disappears.

Repetition built the Alhambra: Van Cleef & Arpels drew its clover in 1968 and has strung it along chains ever since, each leaf cut from stone or gold and ringed with gold beads, scaled up and down as Magic and Sweet Alhambra. Calla does the opposite. Vhernier's necklace carries one cone only, furled like a lily in polished rose or white gold, on a chain whose clasp is hidden from view.
