The quatrefoil and the flower

Lunaria or Fleurette

Marco Bicego · Van Cleef & Arpels

Lunaria

Marco Bicego

Lunaria

Flat, rounded petals modelled on the papery, moon-like seed pods of the honesty plant, in gold, diamond pavé or thin slices of mother-of-pearl and coloured stone.

Fleurette

Van Cleef & Arpels

Fleurette

Seven round diamonds gathered into one small stylised flower, a corolla of stones with almost no metal showing.

Almost no gold shows on a Fleurette: Van Cleef & Arpels gathers seven round diamonds into a tiny corolla, a flower it has set since the 1920s and gave a collection around 2000. Lunaria leans the other way, letting a flat petal of yellow gold carry the design, though Marco Bicego paves some of the seed-pod shapes with diamonds and cuts others from aquamarine or mother-of-pearl.
