Introduced: 1994 — The 1994 launch introduced 1 g gold animal charms. The current site files the animal charms under DoDo Nature; the family name is inferred from that collection's banner, which shows the DoDo charm.

The story

DoDo opened in Milan in 1994 selling one-gram gold charms of animals, led by the dodo, the Mauritian bird lost to extinction and kept as a reminder of what still needs protecting; the brand partnered with WWF the same year. The charms are bought one by one and threaded on a cord or bracelet, and the bestiary now runs from octopus to giraffe in 9kt gold, enamel and small gemstones.
