Bee de Chaumet

The bee reduced to the cell it builds: a gold hexagon, repeated side by side into bands, hoops and pavé, with the insect itself landing only on the larger pieces.

DoDo Nature

A small flat gold animal, the dodo first of all, hung on a coloured cotton cord, each creature sold with a message of its own.

Bee de Chaumet arrived in 2011 alongside Terre d'Abeilles, a campaign to save the bees, and reduced the insect to the hexagon of its comb, repeated across gold bands and pavé hoops. DoDo Nature has a cause of its own: it began in Milan in 1994 with a one-gram charm of the extinct dodo and a WWF partnership the same year. The bee carries two centuries of imperial history; the dodo, a message, a cotton cord and room for more animals, bought one at a time.
