Giardino

A four-petalled flower in openwork gold with a lace edge, set with one stone at its heart, taken from the gardens of Isola Madre on Lake Maggiore.

Isola Madre, the half-wild island garden on Lake Maggiore, gave Laure-Isabelle Mellerio her four-petalled Giardino, an openwork gold flower with a lace edge and a coloured stone at its heart, ruby, tsavorite or pink sapphire. Plume de Paon is Parisian and much older, a peacock feather that Frédéric Boucheron and Paul Legrand put on hair ornaments and brooches from 1860, now rendered in pavé with a larger diamond for its eye.
