Boucheron

Plume de Paon

A peacock feather drawn barb by barb in pavé, its eye marked by a single larger diamond, curling round the finger or falling from a chain.

Frivole

Van Cleef & Arpels

Frivole

A flower of heart-shaped petals in gold polished to a mirror, so smooth the bare metal throws light like a stone.

Pavé or polish. Boucheron's Plume de Paon covers its gold, laying small diamonds along every barb of a peacock feather and closing the eye with one larger stone, a design the house traces to 1860 and to Frédéric Boucheron and Paul Legrand. Frivole leaves the metal bare: Van Cleef & Arpels polishes each heart-shaped petal to a mirror by hand, and since 2003 has scattered the flowers in loose, asymmetric clusters.
