A fan, taken from the ginkgo-leaf pattern in the floor mosaics of Rome's Baths of Caracalla, worn as a pendant, an earring or a ring.

Sunflower

Eight matched stones ring a single round brilliant like petals around a seed head, laid out with a compass for strict symmetry.

Eight matched stones around a round brilliant form a full circle in Harry Winston's Sunflower of 1950, its proportions set with a compass. Bulgari's Divas' Dream, from 2016, cuts the circle into a fan, a shape the house found in the ginkgo-leaf mosaics of the Baths of Caracalla, and builds its colour in bands: mother-of-pearl, malachite, or pink sapphires deepening from one edge to the other.
