Tubogas

A band of gold wound tightly round itself like the flexible pipe of a gas line, tubo gas, so it springs round the wrist or neck without a hinge.

Piaget

Extremely Piaget

Gold chased and engraved until it reads like silk or bark, revived from the house's 1970s cuffs and sautoirs and lit with turquoise, opal and diamonds.

Geneva and Rome each marked a 140th year by looking back. Extremely Piaget, shown at the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris in 2014, revived the chased gold cuffs and long rose-gold chains of Piaget's 1970s, the metal worked until it read like silk or bark. Bulgari did the same in 2024, returning Tubogas to heavy yellow gold. The Piaget surface is engraved texture laid over a form; the Bulgari surface is the form itself, ridges left by a band wound on itself.
