Tubogas

A band of gold wound tightly round itself like the flexible pipe of a gas line, tubo gas, so it springs round the wrist or neck without a hinge.

Classic Cable bracelet in sterling silver, 5 mm, its twisted cuff ending in 14k yellow gold caps set with amethyst, on a white ground.

The Cable Collection

Strands of metal twisted into a helix and bent into an open cuff, its two ends capped with gold and a coloured stone.

Industry named both. Tubogas, first made in Rome in 1941, takes its name from the flexible pipe of a gas line; Cable, born in New York in 1982, from twisted wire rope. David Yurman, a sculptor trained in direct welding, gave a twist to the parallel wires of an earlier bracelet and finished the ends with tourmaline and emerald. Bulgari's coil asks for nothing but wound yellow gold in its plain form, from €9,800 for a bracelet, where Cable starts in sterling silver at €325.
