Bulgari

Tubogas

A band of gold wound tightly round itself like the flexible pipe of a gas line, tubo gas, so it springs round the wrist or neck without a hinge.

Iconica Large ring: a wide, smooth rose-gold band with rounded edges and the Pomellato signature engraved inside, on a pale grey ground.

Pomellato

Iconica

A wide gold band with rounded, pillowy edges and the Pomellato signature engraved inside, made in widths from extra-slim to bold so several can crowd one finger.

Pomellato went back to its first band ring, made in 1970, for its fiftieth birthday in 2017, and Vincenzo Castaldo gave it a softer, thicker profile with pillowy edges. Iconica comes in widths from extra-slim to bold, so several can crowd one finger. Tubogas belongs to an earlier Italy, Rome in 1941, and to a different kind of engineering: a gold band wound on itself into a coil that flexes with no hinge. Milan rounds its gold off; Rome winds it up.
