Etincelle de Cartier

A band about a millimetre and a half wide, paved with small diamonds and carrying a larger stone in the same line, so the ring reads as one spark.

Piaget Solstice

Cocktail rings built like drinks: a large coloured centre stone dressed with gem garnish that opens away so the stone can be worn alone.

A spark is the whole idea of Etincelle de Cartier: a princess, pear, emerald or brilliant-cut stone carried in the line of a fine pavé band, one flash and nothing more. Piaget Solstice, from Geneva in 2022, prefers a whole evening, a high jewelry cocktail ring whose coloured centre gem is decorated with garnish that opens away. Cartier keeps the ring to a single gesture. Piaget builds a conceit in several parts and lets the wearer take it apart.
