Animaux de Collection

Portraits of named animals (Wladimir the cat, Hopi the hummingbird, Nara the fawn) built up in pavé and coloured stones, each a single character sitting on the finger.

Bee de Chaumet medium pendant in rose gold: an open circle of hexagonal honeycomb cells, some set with diamonds, on a fine chain, on a transparent ground.

Bee de Chaumet

The bee reduced to the cell it builds: a gold hexagon, repeated side by side into bands, hoops and pavé, with the insect itself landing only on the larger pieces.

Chaumet's bee is inherited. Napoleon took the insect as an imperial emblem, and Nitot, the house's founder, was his jeweller. Since 2011, as Bee de Chaumet, the motif has been abstracted into its honeycomb, gold hexagons repeated into bands and hoops, with the insect itself landing only on larger pieces. Boucheron moves towards character. Its Animaux de Collection are named individuals, Wladimir the cat, Hopi the hummingbird, Nara the fawn, each with a sculpted coat and stone eyes that look back at the wearer.
