Round diamonds alternating with rubies, sapphires or emeralds round a band, like frames on a reel of film running past.

Laurence Graff Signature

The facets of a cut diamond carried over into solid gold: bands, cuffs and chains whose surfaces break into sharp planes like a polished stone.

London's Graff and Valenza's Damiani both built reputations on diamonds, and they handle them in opposite ways here. Belle Époque sets them in a row with coloured gems, alternating like frames of film, a tribute to the Paris of the 1920s. Laurence Graff Signature makes the gold itself behave like a diamond, carved into facets before any stone is added. Damiani's band is about colour in sequence; Graff's is about the cut, the plane, the hard edge.
