Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff

A cuff modelled on the bones of the wrist, its edges rolled and its surface dipped, so the metal reads as anatomy rather than ornament.

Colour is the point of Belle Époque and almost absent from the Bone Cuff. Damiani's band alternates round diamonds with rubies, sapphires or emeralds like frames on a running reel, a tribute to the screen muses of 1920s Paris drawn from Enrico Grassi Damiani's sketches. Elsa Peretti's cuff of 1970 is plain silver or gold, only sometimes inlaid with stone, and depends entirely on its sculpted form. Rhythm drives Damiani's ring. Peretti's cuff has a single, slow curve, shaped after bone, and needs nothing more.
