Laurence Graff Signature

The facets of a cut diamond carried over into solid gold: bands, cuffs and chains whose surfaces break into sharp planes like a polished stone.

Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff

A cuff modelled on the bones of the wrist, its edges rolled and its surface dipped, so the metal reads as anatomy rather than ornament.

The Laurence Graff Signature bangle is carved; the Bone Cuff is cast. Graff's artisans cut the facets of a diamond into the gold first and set stones only once the metal is finished, so the open bangle breaks into sharp planes. Elsa Peretti, in 1970, asked silver and gold to behave like bone instead, rolling the edges and hollowing the surface. Behind the cuff lies the memory of a Roman crypt Peretti visited as a child, and behind the bangle, a London house's long practice of cutting diamonds.
