Belle Époque

Round diamonds alternating with rubies, sapphires or emeralds round a band, like frames on a reel of film running past.

Diamonds edge some B.zero1 rings; on Belle Époque they make the whole circuit, taking turns with ruby, sapphire or emerald like frames on a film reel. Damiani's line pays tribute to 1920s Paris, from sketches Enrico Grassi Damiani made after a visit. Bulgari's 1999 ring looks to ancient Rome instead and lets a spiral of gold between two engraved rims do the work. Belle Époque is read in colour, B.zero1 in profile. Damiani borrowed another city's glamour; Bulgari quarried its own.
