Mimosa
Mimosa
The mimosa, a shrub that flowers whatever the weather, made into a diamond flower and dedicated to women.
Luck and endurance are the meanings here. Van Cleef & Arpels drew the Alhambra's four-leaf clover in 1968 and framed it in beaded gold, turning a token of good fortune into a repeatable charm in onyx, malachite, carnelian and mother-of-pearl. Damiani's Mimosa takes a shrub that blooms in all weathers as its emblem, first for Damiano Grassi Damiani's wife and daughter, then for all women. The clover asks to be read as colour and pattern, the mimosa as a white flower with a meaning attached.
