The quatrefoil and the flower

Mimosa or Calla

Damiani · Vhernier

Mimosa

Damiani

Mimosa

The mimosa, a shrub that flowers whatever the weather, made into a diamond flower and dedicated to women.

Calla

Vhernier

Calla

One smooth cone, furled like a calla lily, hung alone on a necklace whose clasp disappears.

Valenza, the goldsmiths' town in Piedmont, is home to both houses. Damiani's Mimosa, created by the founder's son Damiano Grassi Damiani for his wife and daughter and later dedicated to all women, sets the hardy yellow flower in white gold and diamonds; a Mimosa necklace was among the pieces for the house's centenary in 2024. Vhernier, founded in the same town in 1984, made Calla in 1998: one polished cone furled like a lily, hung alone on a chain with no visible clasp.
