Mimosa
Mimosa
The mimosa, a shrub that flowers whatever the weather, made into a diamond flower and dedicated to women.
At first glance these two small white flowers in diamonds could be siblings. Their stories diverge. Fleurette is a corolla of seven round stones that Van Cleef & Arpels has set since the 1920s and gathered into a collection around 2000, with almost no metal on show. Mimosa is a personal gift turned public: Damiano Grassi Damiani's tribute to his wife Gabriella and daughter Silvia, later offered to all women. The Paris flower is a jeweller's form, the Valenza flower a family's sentiment.
