Sculpted Cable

The cable's round twist pressed into low relief, so the helix becomes a row of polished gold waves laid side by side.

Perlée

Van Cleef & Arpels

Perlée

The house's oldest ornament, the polished gold bead, made into the whole jewel: bangles, rings and hoops lined with rows of tiny golden spheres.

The size of the repeated unit sets these apart. Perlée's gold beads are small enough to run in several rows round a slim bangle; Sculpted Cable's polished waves, introduced by David Yurman in 2023, fill a gold bracelet fourteen millimetres wide. Van Cleef & Arpels has used its bead since the 1920s; Yurman's wave is the house's 1982 helix pressed into relief. Both work in yellow, rose and white gold, and both can be paved with diamonds.
