Perlée

The house's oldest ornament, the polished gold bead, made into the whole jewel: bangles, rings and hoops lined with rows of tiny golden spheres.

The story

Gold beads had edged Van Cleef & Arpels pieces since the 1920s before they became the frame of the Alhambra clover. In 2008 the house gave them a line of their own, in single or multiple rows polished on the back as well as the front; Perlée couleurs later set carnelian, malachite and other stones between the beads.
