Tubogas
A band of gold wound tightly round itself like the flexible pipe of a gas line, tubo gas, so it springs round the wrist or neck without a hinge.
Sculpted Cable
The cable's round twist pressed into low relief, so the helix becomes a row of polished gold waves laid side by side.
Ridges of polished yellow gold, repeated round the wrist, mark both bracelets. Bulgari's are structural: Tubogas, first made in 1941, is a band wound on itself, and its grooves are the record of that winding. David Yurman's are drawn. Sculpted Cable, shown in September 2023, takes the round helix of the house's 1982 Cable and presses it into a row of waves that keep their volume. One comes out of a Roman workshop in wartime, the other out of forty years spent refining a New York signature.
