Les Pétales Place Vendôme

Cupped rose petals of pavé diamonds drift against a round pearl, as if blown across the Place Vendôme.

Fleurette

Van Cleef & Arpels

Fleurette

Seven round diamonds gathered into one small stylised flower, a corolla of stones with almost no metal showing.

A pearl changes the composition. Fleurette is diamonds alone, seven round stones in a compact corolla, a Van Cleef & Arpels form since the 1920s. Les Pétales Place Vendôme gives its pavé petals a pearl to circle, Akoya or South Sea, and lets them fall loosely instead of locking them into a rosette. Both come in white and rose gold with white stones, yet the Paris flower is closed and the Mikimoto composition open and in motion.
