Extremely Piaget

Gold chased and engraved until it reads like silk or bark, revived from the house's 1970s cuffs and sautoirs and lit with turquoise, opal and diamonds.

Berbère

Parallel rows of gold joined into a single ring, so one piece looks like a stack of bands.

Lacquer brought colour to Berbère, and hard stones brought it to Extremely Piaget. Gaia Repossi coated her fused rows of gold for Berbère Chromatic; Piaget set turquoise, opal, lapis and chalcedony against its chased rose gold. The underlying forms could hardly differ more. Repossi's parallel bands are spare, a nod to Berber jewelry and to modern art, while Piaget's 2014 collection restaged the abundance of its 1970s, sautoirs and all.
