B.zero1

A spiral band that climbs the finger like the tiers of the Colosseum, held between two rims engraved BVLGARI BVLGARI.

Berbère

Parallel rows of gold joined into a single ring, so one piece looks like a stack of bands.

A single ring that reads as several bands: both pieces rest on that illusion. B.zero1 achieves it with a continuous spiral climbing between two engraved rims, Bulgari's 1999 nod to the Colosseum. Gaia Repossi's Berbère achieves it with parallel rows of gold fused side by side, no spiral at all, a nod in name to Berber jewelry and in line to modern art. Repossi's rows have since been lacquered in colour for Berbère Chromatic, and Bulgari's spiral has gone into ceramic.
