Jack de Boucheron

A supple gold cable closed by a faceted clasp shaped like an audio jack, wrapped once or three times round the wrist or opened out as a necklace or belt.

Écrou de Cartier

A slim gold cable cut with a screw thread and strung with hexagonal nuts.

A threaded bolt and a headphone lead supplied these two cables. Écrou de Cartier, from 2017, cuts a screw thread into slim gold and strings hexagonal nuts along it, the house's third hardware motif after the screw and the nail. Jack de Boucheron, from 2019, keeps its cable pliant enough to coil three times round the wrist and ends it in a faceted plug modelled on an audio jack. Two years apart, two Paris houses found the same supple line in very different drawers.
